Yes, that's right. Without your permission.
Internet Explorer automatically contact's home base and numbers you among the many other users that have fallen into the same trap.
Most people don't notice this because it happens so fast.
IE first calls home and then quickly jumps to the page that it was really supposed to load.
But through my lightning quick reflexes I caught IE in the act.
This page's background shows the URL that was being loaded. (Look in the title bar.)
Look at all the information embedded in the URL. Is this an invasion of your privacy?

I wonder if any other Microsoft products automatically phone home without our permission?
